Orthodontist cologne - JUST KFO - Dr. Steinmaier + Kollegen - Invisalign cologne

Braces that are almost invisible but effectively correct misaligned teeth—does that sound too good to be true? With aligners (e.g., Invisalign), it's possible. Discover your options in Cologne and choose the unbeatable alternative to fixed braces at JUST KFO.

Invisalign in Cologne: The popular alternative to conventional braces

Many people consider a beautiful smile to be extremely important. Misaligned teeth can therefore impair aesthetics. They can also be detrimental to health.

This is why many people still want a correction in adulthood. However, as conventional braces are often perceived as unattractive, the decision is often difficult.

This is why aligners (e.g., Invisalign) exist—transparent, removable, and almost invisible braces for adults. Minor to moderate corrections can be easily made with aligners in Cologne.

If necessary, you can remove your braces at any time - whether for eating, brushing your teeth or for a photo session. This makes aligners in Cologne the best solution for anyone who doesn't want to wear visible, fixed braces but wants to correct the position of their teeth.

How does Invisalign work?

1.Digital planning with ClinCheck®
Your personal treatment plan (ClinCheck®) is created using a 3D computer graphics process. Here, the desired end result is simulated and divided into individual treatment phases.

2.Aligners for each phase
A customized Invisalign aligner is made for each phase, which gently moves the teeth through controlled pressure. Unlike fixed braces, only specific teeth are corrected in each phase.

3.Regular aligner changes
Invisalign aligners are worn for 20–22 hours a day. Approximately every 1–2 weeks, you switch to the next aligner, which continues to move your teeth into the previously calculated position.

4.Duration of treatment
Depending on the complexity of the misalignment,Invisalign treatment lastsbetween 6 and 18 months.

5.Regular check-ups for optimal results
Throughout the entire course of treatment, progress is regularly monitored at our practice and adjusted as necessary.

Thanks to precise planning and gentle, minimally invasive movement,Invisalign offersa comfortable, virtually invisible alternative to fixed braces.

Clear Aligner treatment procedure

In many cases, so-called attachments are used in Clear Aligner or Invisalign therapy. These small, transparent plastic retaining elements are applied to the teeth to specifically support certain tooth movements.

Clear Aligner treatment procedure

1.Digital capture & planning
A precise3D scanof the teeth is created in order to custom-make the aligners. If necessary, attachmentsare placed on specific teeth before the scan.

2.Manufacture & adjustment of aligners
Thecustomized alignersare produced based on digital planning. The attachments enable even more precise control of tooth movements.

3.Lost an attachment? No problem!
If anattachment comesloose during treatment, it can easily be replaced by your orthodontist.

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology,Clear Aligner therapyensures gentle and effective tooth correction—virtuallyinvisible and without annoying wires.

Can you smoke with clear aligners?

Smoking while wearing aligners is not recommended as it can lead to discoloration and unpleasant odors that may not be completely removed.

Smoking also increases the risk of gingivitis, periodontitis and tooth decay, as it impairs oral health and worsens the blood supply to the gums. If it is not possible to stop smoking completely, the aligners should be removed before smoking and the teeth and aligners should be cleaned thoroughly afterwards to prevent deposits and damage.

Reducing or giving up smoking can have a positive effect on the treatment outcome and general dental health.

Who is Invisalign not suitable for?

Although Invisalign is an effective method of correcting misaligned teeth, there are certain cases where the treatment may not be the best option. Invisalign may reach its limits in cases of very complex misalignments or severe jaw anomalies. In such cases, traditional fixed braces or even orthodontic surgery may be necessary to achieve the desired result. An experienced orthodontist can recommend a customized therapy after a comprehensive diagnosis.

In addition, Invisalign treatment requires discipline and personal responsibility, as the aligners must be worn every day. Patients who have difficulty consistently adhering to this wearing time or ensuring the necessary care may be better advised to opt for fixed braces.

The best way to determine whether Invisalign is suitable for your individual situation is to consult with an experienced orthodontist. Make an appointment now to discuss your options!

How effective is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a modern and effective method for correcting misaligned teeth. In many cases, Invisalign achieves comparable results to fixed braces, but offers the advantage of almost invisible and comfortable treatment.

Customized, transparent aligners gradually move the teeth into the desired position. Each aligner exerts targeted, gentle pressure and is replaced by the next aligner approximately every two weeks to enable continuous tooth correction.

The success of Invisalign treatment depends largely on how consistently the aligners are worn. The aligners must be worn every dayto achieve optimal results. Irregular wear can prolong the treatment period or compromise its success.

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and precise digital planning, Invisalign enables predictable and gentle tooth correction. You can find out whether this method is suitable for your individual tooth misalignment during a personal consultation.

Which health insurance companies cover Invisalign?

The coverage of costs forInvisalign treatmentdepends on the respective health insurance company and the insurance contract. As a rule, statutory health insurance companiesdo not cover the costs, as Invisalign is classified as a cosmetic treatment and is usually not considered medically necessary.

However, there are cases in whichprivate health insurance or supplementary insuranceoffers subsidies orpartial coverage of Invisalign costs—especially if the misalignment of the teeth causes functional problems such as temporomandibular joint disorders or severe malocclusion.

It is recommended that you contact yourprivate health insuranceor supplementary dental insurance provider directly before starting treatment to clarify your individual reimbursement options. An experienced orthodontist can also advise you and explain alternative financing options.

Can you speak well with Invisalign?

Yes, withInvisalignyou can usually speak without any problems. The aligners are designed to fit snugly against the teeth and have little effect on speech. However, during the first few days of treatment, there may be a slight adjustment period as your tongue gets used to the new aligners. This phase usually passes within a few days, and your speech will quickly return to normal.

It is important to wear the aligners regularly, as irregular wear not only delays the success of the treatment but can also lead to a renewed adjustment period. An experienced orthodontist can ensure that the aligners are optimally fitted to your teeth to guarantee maximum comfort and undisturbed speech.

When do you see the first successes with Invisalign?

The first visible results ofInvisalign treatmentcan vary depending on the type and extent of the misalignment. Usually, the first changes can be seen after justa few weeks.Consistent wear of the alignersand adherence to the orthodontist's instructions are crucial for progress.

As Invisalign works with precise digital planning, the progress of treatment can be monitored regularly and adjusted if necessary. Visible results can often be seen more quickly, especially with minor malocclusions, while more complex corrections require more time.

In order to achieve the best possible results, it is important to wear the aligners reliably and to change them at regular intervals. Irregular wearing can prolong the duration of treatment and delay success.
