For whom are invisible braces suitable?
Both adults and children can wear clear braces. However, the proportion of adults who opt for this form of tooth correction is higher. This is because it is inconspicuous and comfortable, making it ideal for everyday wear.
To use them, simply place the braces over your rows of teeth. This makes them much less visible than the metal wires of conventional fixed braces.
Clear braces are suitable for these complaints:
- Teething
- crooked teeth
- Tooth gaps
Incidentally, clear braces should be distinguished from veneers. They are not just an aesthetic correction that increases your well-being and self-confidence. Rather, they correct your teeth in the long term so that the functional aspect is also taken into account.
At JUST KFO, your health is our priority. We create solutions that are good for your body.
Reasons for clear braces
In addition to low visibility, clear braces also offer these advantages:
- Correction of a wide range of misaligned teeth
- Simplified cleaning of the oral cavity thanks to the correct position of the teeth
- Improved oral hygiene and prevention of periodontitis and tooth decay
- Hardly any restrictions in everyday life - neither when eating food nor when speaking
- Short familiarization period
How long treatment with clear braces lasts depends on your individual situation. On average, treatment lasts between 4 and 9 months if you wear the braces carefully. Talk to us, we will be happy to advise you on this form of tooth correction!
A new attitude to life Transparent braces5simple steps to beautiful & straight teeth

Step 1
You will receive a comprehensive preliminary examination of your teeth, gums and jaw joints. In addition, an X-ray will be taken (if not available) and a detailed treatment plan for clear braces will be drawn up. The first appointment and the treatment plan are non-binding for you.

Step 2
The next step is a scan of your teeth and the occlusion. Using tried-and-tested German software, we - your orthodontist in Cologne Rodenkirchen - create a perfect virtual treatment goal and the course of treatment. In this way, we guarantee short paths and a fast process.

Step 3
The aligners / clear braces are manufactured in our master laboratory using the 3D printing process with the latest technical possibilities. We are always in contact with the manufacturers and are constantly working with them to further develop aligner production. The material used is certified and manufactured in Germany.
Step 4
The clear braces are transparent and therefore almost invisible and do not disturb you in everyday life or when sleeping. During the course of treatment, our orthodontists will carry out an interim check-up to check the progress of the tooth correction.

Step 5
To maintain the tooth correction, you initially continue to wear the clear braces at night. This guarantees that the corrected tooth position does not change and your beautiful smile remains intact.
Alternatively, we also offer fixed retainers.
For whom are invisible braces suitable?

How expensive are invisible braces?
The cost of invisible braces (e.g. Invisalign) depends on various factors, such as the individual condition of the teeth, the severity of the malocclusion, the duration of treatment and the region in which the orthodontist practices.
As a rule, the costs for invisible braces are higher than for conventional fixed braces. A rough estimate of the cost of Invisalign treatment in Germany is between €3,000 and €8,000. In some cases, however, the treatment can be more expensive.
It is important to note that the costs of invisible braces are not normally covered by health insurance unless there is a medical necessity. It is therefore advisable to find out from your health insurance provider whether the costs can be covered.
How long do you wear clear braces?
The duration of wearing clear braces depends on various factors, such as the individual condition of the teeth, the severity of the malocclusion and the type of clear braces.
As a rule, clear braces such as Invisalign, Aligner or ClearCorrect must be worn for at least 20 to 22 hours a day. They should only be removed during meals, when brushing teeth or during certain activities such as playing wind instruments.
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the misaligned teeth and can vary from several months to several years. During this time, the patient must visit the orthodontist regularly to monitor the progress of the treatment and make adjustments to the braces if necessary.
It is important to follow the orthodontist's recommendations and wear the braces regularly to achieve the best possible results and shorten the duration of treatment.
What are the benefits of a transparent dental splint?
A clear aligner, also known as an aligner or Invisalign, is used to correct misaligned teeth and jaw problems. It offers an aesthetic alternative to traditional metal braces as it is made of transparent plastic and is therefore barely visible.
Wearing a clear dental splint can correct a variety of malocclusions, such as over- or undershot teeth, gaps between the teeth or jaw problems such as an overbite or underbite. A corrected tooth position can not only be aesthetically pleasing, but can also improve jaw joint function and prevent gum disease.
A clear aligner also offers the advantage that it is removable and therefore easier to clean and maintain than conventional braces. In addition, it can be temporarily removed for certain activities such as playing wind instruments or for certain occasions such as weddings or photo shoots.
However, it is important to note that treatment with a clear aligner may not be possible in some cases, such as when teeth are severely misaligned. It is therefore advisable to consult an orthodontist to discuss the best treatment options.
What are the clear braces called?
Clear braces are often referred to as aligners or Invisalign. Aligner is a general term for a type of clear braces, while Invisalign is a specific brand of aligners.
Are clear braces covered by health insurance?
As a rule, the costs of clear braces are not covered by statutory health insurance, as this is an aesthetic treatment method. In some cases, however, partial reimbursement of the costs may be possible through private supplementary dental insurance. It is advisable to consult your health insurance provider or an orthodontist to clarify the exact costs and reimbursement options.
Invisible braces costs
Prices for invisible braces vary depending on the scope of treatment and individual requirements, typically costing between 3,000 and 8,000 euros.
This type of braces is particularly suitable for adults and teenagers who prefer inconspicuous teeth straightening. An initial consultation can provide a precise cost estimate and customized treatment options.
Do clear braces turn yellow?
It is possible for clear braces(aligners) to turn yellow over time, especially if they are not cleaned regularly or if you consume caffeinated or colored beverages such as coffee, tea or wine while wearing them.
To avoid discoloration, it is important to clean the aligners regularly and to avoid caffeinated or colored drinks while wearing them. There are also special cleaning agents and tablets that can be used to clean aligners and prevent discoloration.
How do you clean clear braces?
To clean clear braces, you should follow the steps below:
- Remove the braces and rinse them under running water.
- Fill a small bowl or glass with lukewarm water and add a special cleaning tablet or a mild detergent.
- Place the braces in the solution and leave them to soak for the recommended time (usually about 15 to 30 minutes).
- Carefully brush the braces with a soft toothbrush to remove all impurities and bacteria. Make sure to clean all corners and angles thoroughly.
- Rinse the brace again under running water to remove all cleaning agent residues.
- Replace the braces.
It is important to clean the braces regularly to avoid discoloration and unpleasant odors and to ensure optimal oral health. It is recommended to clean the braces at least twice a day, especially after eating or drinking anything other than water.
Which braces color is the best?
There is no specific braces color that can be considered "best" as the choice of color is ultimately a personal decision. Most orthodontists offer a wide range of colors and designs to meet the different needs and preferences of their patients.
Some people prefer neutral or subtle colors, while others prefer eye-catching or bright colors. It's important to choose a color that you feel comfortable with and that matches your style and personality.
Which braces are the most expensive?
The most expensive type of braces is usually lingual braces. This type of brace is attached to the inside of the teeth and is therefore invisible, which many patients find more aesthetically pleasing.
As this type of brace has to be custom-made and requires more complex fabrication than conventional braces, they are generally more expensive than other options. The exact cost can vary depending on the country, region and individual situation. It is therefore best to consult an orthodontist to get an accurate price.
Which braces are covered by health insurance?
In Germany, orthodontic treatment for children and adolescents up to the age of 18 is covered by statutory health insurance if it is medically necessary. The costs for fixed braces made of metal or ceramic brackets and wire arches are usually covered in full by the health insurance company.
For adults, the coverage of costs by health insurance is generally limited. However, orthodontic treatment may also be medically necessary for adults under certain conditions and may then be covered by health insurance. However, it is usually the case that adults have to bear part of the costs themselves.
Transparent plastic aligners are not normally covered by health insurance in Germany, unless the treatment is medically necessary. Private health insurance companies may cover the costs under certain conditions. However, it is advisable to ask your health insurance company or an orthodontist about the exact conditions and costs.
How long does it take until the teeth are straight Braces?
The duration of orthodontic treatment with braces depends on many factors, such as the severity of the misalignment, the age of the patient and the type of braces.
As a rule, treatment with fixed braces lasts between 1.5 and 3 years, while treatment with a clear aligner usually lasts between 6 months and 2 years. However, the exact duration of treatment is determined individually for each patient and depends on the individual malocclusion and the treatment plan.
During treatment, the crooked teeth are gradually moved into the desired position. In most cases, however, the first results are visible after just a few months. However, it is important to wear the braces for as long as recommended in order to achieve a lasting result.
What do you do if your braces stink?
If braces cause an unpleasant odor, this can have various causes. Often, the odor is due to a build-up of bacteria and food debris deposited on the braces. It is important to clean the braces thoroughly on a regular basis to eliminate this odor.
Here are some tips on how to clean stinky braces:
- Brush your teeth thoroughly: The teeth and braces should be cleaned thoroughly after every meal with a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.
- Use of mouthwashes: Mouthwashes can help reduce bacteria and odors. However, it is important to choose a mouthwash that is suitable for braces.
- Cleaning tablets: There are special cleaning tablets for braces that can help to eliminate odors and reduce bacteria. These can be used regularly to thoroughly clean the braces.
- Regular check-ups with your orthodontist: It is important to have regular check-ups with your orthodontist to ensure that your braces are fitting correctly and to have them professionally cleaned if necessary.
If the odor does not disappear despite regular cleaning of the braces, the orthodontist should be informed to discuss further steps.
Can braces get moldy?
Yes, it is possible for mold to form on braces, especially if they are not properly cared for. If bacteria and food debris accumulate on the braces, this can lead to mold growth. Mold on braces can lead to unpleasant odors, infections and other health problems.
It is important to clean the braces regularly and thoroughly to prevent mold growth. This includes cleaning the braces daily with a soft toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste as well as using special cleaning tablets and mouthwashes that are suitable for braces. Regular check-ups with an orthodontist are also important to ensure that the braces are fitting correctly and to have them professionally cleaned if necessary.
If mold forms on the braces despite regular cleaning, this should be reported to the orthodontist in Cologne Rodenkirchen so that further measures can be taken.
Do clear braces hurt?
Clear braces, also known as aligners, can be uncomfortable at first and cause slight pain, similar to traditional braces.
When you insert a new aligner tray, you may initially feel a certain amount of pressure and tension in your mouth, but this should usually subside within a few days.
You may also have temporary difficulty speaking or eating normally, but this should also improve within a short time. However, if you experience persistent pain or discomfort, you should see your orthodontist to check the fit of the splints and make any necessary adjustments.
Can I take the brace out while eating and brushing my teeth?
Yes, with most types of braces, including clear aligner trays, it is common to take them out when eating and brushing your teeth. However, it is important that you clean your teeth thoroughly before putting the aligner back in to avoid food debris getting stuck between the aligner and your teeth.
Also note that you need to wear the aligners for at least 20 to 22 hours per day to achieve optimal results. It is important to follow your orthodontist's recommendations regarding the wearing of your braces and the care of your teeth and braces in order to achieve the best possible results.
Do the clear braces interfere with speaking?
You may feel a little uncomfortable at first or have a slight difficulty speaking when wearing clear braces. However, this is normal and should subside within a few days to weeks as your mouth gets used to the new braces.
It can also be helpful to speak out loud or practice your pronunciation to get used to the brace more quickly. In general, however, clear braces should not cause major disruption to your speech.
Are clear braces also suitable for children and teenagers?
Clear braces, such as Invisalign, are suitable for children and teenagers as long as they already have all their permanent teeth and their jaw growth is complete.
This usually occurs between the ages of 12-14. However, orthodontic treatment should always be carried out by a specialist orthodontist who can decide which type of braces are best suited to the individual child. In some cases, fixed braces may be the better choice as they are more effective for more severe misalignments. Unfortunately, clear fixed braces are not available.
Is an x-ray necessary?
Yes, an X-ray is usually necessary to make an accurate diagnosis and plan the course of orthodontic treatment.
The X-ray provides the orthodontist in Cologne Rodenkirchen with information about the position of the teeth and jawbones that are not visible to the naked eye. This enables a more precise diagnosis and treatment planning. In addition, an X-ray can help to identify potential problems that cannot be detected during a visual examination.
Transparent braces: The invisible alternative for perfect teeth straightening
How much do braces cost and are they covered by health insurance?
One of the most important aspects when deciding on braces is the question of how much they cost and whether the costs are covered by health insurance. In many cases, the cost of conventional braces is covered by health insurance if they are medically necessary. For clear braces, however, this can vary depending on the type of insurance and the type of brace and the patient's individual situation.
Clear braces for children and adults
Clear braces for adults can also be an attractive option for children. In children, the misalignment of the teeth is often still at an early stage, which is why early treatment with clear braces can be particularly effective. Adults, on the other hand, appreciate the discreet appearance of invisible braces and the fact that they can be easily removed.
Invisible dental splints and transparent brackets
There are various types of clear braces that differ in terms of how they work and their appearance. These include invisible braces, such as Incognito braces, and clear brackets. The invisible braces are customized and can be worn on both the upper and lower jaw. Transparent brackets, on the other hand, are fixed braces that are attached to the teeth but are less noticeable than conventional braces.
Removable and fixed braces
A major advantage of removable braces, such as invisible braces, is that they can be easily removed. This makes oral hygiene easier and allows the braces to be worn only at night or, if necessary, during the day. Fixed braces, such as lingual braces, on the other hand, are attached directly to the teeth and cannot be easily removed. However, they have the advantage that they exert continuous pressure on the teeth and are therefore more effective in treatment.
Choosing the right braces
Most patients opt for clear braces due to their noticeable advantages over conventional braces. However, the choice of the right braces depends on various factors, such as the degree of malocclusion, the patient's age and individual preferences. A detailed consultation with the orthodontist is therefore essential in order to find the optimal solution for each patient.
Aligner therapy and the cost of clear aligners
Aligner therapy is an innovative option for correcting teeth, especially in adults. This type of treatment uses transparent aligners that are made according to an individual treatment plan. They are mainly worn at night and can also be used during the day if necessary.
This method is particularly attractive for those who want to correct a tooth or jaw misalignment without fixed braces being visible. The aligners are transparent and therefore barely noticeable, making them an excellent choice for adults who value discretion. The cost of aligners varies, however, depending on the complexity of the necessary corrections and the duration of the treatment.
While some private insurance companies cover part of the costs for aligner therapies, the regulations for statutory health insurance companies vary. It is therefore important to ask your health insurance provider about possible cost coverage.
