Career History
After completing her dental degree at the Westfälische Wilhelms University in Münster in 2016, she worked in general dentistry as an assistant dentist at Dr. Jochims' practice in Diepholz. There she was able to deepen her practical knowledge and experience before continuing her specialist dental training at Dr. Werner Schupp's practice in Cologne.
During her advanced training in Cologne, Dr. Julia Steinmaier (née Funke) established the in-house aligner therapy program at the practice of Dr. Werner Schupp, an orthodontist .
In addition, Dr. Julia Steinmaier (née Funke) has become an experienced user of Invisaligntreatment method and skeletal anchorage techniques (mini-implants).
In 2020, Dr. Julia Steinmaier (née Funke) continued her specialist dental training at the Freiburg University Clinic under the direction of Prof. Dr. B.A. Jung, where she deepened her knowledge in the field of orthodontics and refined her skills in the treatment of complex cases.
In 2021, Dr. Julia Steinmaier (née Funke) received her recognition as a specialist dentist for orthodontics by the Baden-Württemberg Dental Association and joined forces with Dr. Schupp in the joint practice Dr. Schupp, Dr. Steinmaier (née Funke).
Dr. Steinmaier has been using the DMD system since 2022. This enables her to examine and treat her patients' temporomandibular joints very precisely.
In January 2024, Dr. Steinmaier took over the practice from Dr. Schupp. At the same time, she also became a mother for the first time.
