What is TMD?

TMD for temporomandibular disorder —a functional disorder affecting the interaction between the temporomandibular joint, the masticatory muscles, and tooth contact. Because the muscles in the head, neck, and shoulder regions are interconnected, symptoms can also manifest in areas that one might not immediately associate with the jaw. Here's what's JUST KFO at JUST KFO

A self-test can provide clues, but it cannot establish a diagnosis. If the test reveals any signs of a problem, we will investigate further through a clinical functional analysis: We examine the temporomandibular joint, the masticatory muscles, and tooth contacts, and use our digital diagnostic tools as needed. This will determine whether treatment is necessary and, if so, what type of treatment is appropriate.
